Summary
Conversion of village toilet facility into 3 bedroom house.

Location
North Somerset

Concept
An interesting project involving the conversion of a village toilet block into a dwelling house including 3 bedrooms and open plan living space over 3 floors. Built behind an existing random rubble retaining wall that separates two roads the project incorporates living accommodation at upper ground floor level, guest accommodation at intermediate level and a master bedroom at lower ground floor level. The design included locally sourced timber cladding, a sedum roof and extensive north facing glazing to provide views of the Severn estuary. The centre piece of the scheme was the reconfiguration of the stairs into a naturally lit entrance lobby with integrated storage.
